Kachin Hills is located in Kachin State, in the northernmost part of Myanmar, there are deep forests. Mountains usually run north/south. Mount Bumpa Bum is the highest point at 3,411 meters (11,191 feet). The mountain is among the highest peaked mountains in Southeast Asia. The Kachin Mountains region covers 19,177 square miles (49,670 square kilometers). The mountain ranges are interspersed and mostly run north and south. In addition, there are plains leading to the Irrawaddy River.
