Pathein River

The Pathein River is the largest and westernmost tributary of the Irrawaddy River. Pathein River is also called Ngwan River.The Pathein River splits off from the right side of the Irrawaddy River a few miles above Hinthata, and then flows southwest for about 200 miles. It flows into the Bay of Bengal towards Turtle Island and the Aguada Reef Lighthouse. Darkamyit River , Pamavati River,Thandwe River,Taungkale River and Kanyin Creek; Gat Creek and Kwan Creek etc. flows into Pathein River.
