Gwe Chaung fortress was built at the same time as Minha Fortress. It is a Burmese fortress that was built at the same time. Gwecahung fortress is located on the east bank of the Irrawaddy River, about 12 miles from Magway. Located on the west bank of the Irrawaddy River, southeast of the Min Hla Fortress. The Gwe Chaung Fort was built in the year 1860 (1860) by Burmese engineers, with the supervision and planning of King Min Dong's younger brother, Ka Naung Prince, who are French and Italians, Komohoperry and Morenari, and it was completed in 1863. The Gwe Chaung Fort is 275 feet long, 155 feet wide, and 12 feet high. It is surrounded by a 4-foot brick wall. On the east, west, and north sides of the wall, there are a total of 154 holes arranged to attack the enemy from the inside. On the south side of the fort, there is a 4-tier earthen rampart surrounded by rows of bricks. A tower is made in the eastern part of the top floor. In the current situation, only the brick columns remain.
