Rare photograph of The Holy Trinity Church, Rangoon
7 months ago
19th Century. Colonial Burma (Myanmar), Rangoon (Yangon). Rare photograph of The Holy Trinity Church, Rangoon. (Long gone). The Church was demolished around 1917. (not sure why - possibly to make way for a Government building). The Church was designed by Captain J. M. Williams and completed in 1865. The Church was built in central Rangoon near to Strand Road and Merchant Street. The Holy Trinity Cathedral (completed 1894) is still a place of worship in Yangon. Photographer J. Jackson, Rangoon.
